Evaluation simulations with REMO2020-2-iMOVE performed on the EURO-CORDEX domain at 0.11 degree resolution, using ERA5.1 reanalysis data as lateral boundary conditions for the years 1981-2020, and applying annual land use land cover maps from the LUCAS LUC dataset Version 1.1 (https://doi.org/10.26050/WDCC/LUC_hist_EU_v1.1). REMO-iMOVE includes interactive vegetation and plant functional types (PFTs) and is able to simulate the interaction of land cover and climate. The simulation was performed in the scope of the Horizon Europe project OptFor-EU. Within OptFor-EU, the data was used to evaluate the performance of REMO2020-2-iMOVE -LUCunder past climate conditions for Europe. By comparing to "REMO2020-2-iMOVE Simulation Driven By ERA5.1 Reanalysis With Static 2015 LUCAS Land Cover Map" the impact of annually updated land cover maps representing land-use changes on the simulated climate conditions can be assessed. Within OptFor-EU the data also feeds the development of Decision Support Systems (DSS) assisting decision-making on Forest Management Options in different case studies within Europe. For 18 climatic indicators, relevant for forest management, we provide seasonal and annual data as timeseries on the EURO-CORDEX EUR-11 grid in netcdf format: number of dry days (dd), evapotranspiration (evspsbl), number of frost days (fd), near-surface relative humidity (hurs), near-surface specific humidity (huss), maximum length of heat waves (hwx), number of ice days (id), leaf area index (lai), total runoff (mrro), surface runoff (mrros), relative soil moisture (mrsov), precipitation (pr), sea level pressure (psl), number of summer days (SU30), daily mean temperature (tas), daily maximum temperature (tasmax), daily minimum temperature (tasmin), field capacity of soil (wsmx).
