Using ICON-CLM, the CLM community provides historical RCM simulations and climate projections for the EUR-12 domain of EURO-CORDEX by a dynamical downscaling of different CMIP6 GCMs. In a second step, a quality checked subset of the RCM simulations at 12 km (driven by MPI-ESM1-2-HR, EC-Earth3-Veg, and MIROC6) is determined and, for SSP1-2.6 and SSP3-7.0, further downscaled to 3 km (CEUX-3 domain) using ICON-CLM in a convection-permitting setup. The simulations for CEUX-3 are performed by the following institutions: DWD, KIT, Hereon, GERICS, and BTU. The ICON-CLM setup was optimized in the CECPI-Ger (Coordinated Evaluation of Convection Permitting Climate simulations with ICON-CLM for Germany) initiative of the CLM community by an objective tuning of a large number of model parameters (Geyer et al, 2026).
The historical simulations are provided for the years 1960-2014. The supplementary data complement the ESGF publication of the historical RCM simulations by the CLM-community.
