climate projection CORDEX-CMIP6 historical ICON-CLM regional climate modeling

Summary: Using ICON-CLM, the CLM community provides historical RCM simulations and climate projections for the EUR-12 domain of EURO-CORDEX by a dynamical downscaling of six CMIP6 GCMs and the shared socioeconomic pathway scenarios SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, and SSP5-8.5. The simulations are performed by the following institutions: DWD, KIT, Hereon, GERICS, BTU, C2SM, FZJ, Wegener Centre, and IMGW. The ICON-CLM setup was optimized in the COPAT2 (Coordinated Parameter Testing) initiative of the CLM community by an objective tuning of a large number of model parameters (Geyer et al, 2026, https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-19-5439-2026).
The historical simulations (1950-2014) are forced by different historical GCM simulations (MPI-ESM1-2-HR, EC-Earth3-Veg, MIROC6, CNRM-ESM2-1, CMCC-CM2-SR5, and NorESM2-MM). The supplementary data complement the ESGF publication of the historical RCM simulations by the CLM-community.
