This dataset group provides global outputs from two CESM simulations, Control and GSM, covering the period from 1850 to 2000. The GSM simulation includes a Maunder Minimum event represented from 1950 to 2000, allowing the assessment of climate variability and atmospheric responses under this specific forcing scenario.
The CESM datasets are provided on the native global model grid, with a spatial resolution of 1.9° × 2.5° in latitude and longitude. These simulations complement the ERA5 and CMIP6 products by providing global model outputs associated with a controlled Maunder Minimum experiment.
The datasets are distributed in NetCDF4 format, follow CF conventions, include standardized units and complete metadata. No spatial subsetting, regridding, bias correction, or additional quality control was applied.
