Summary
Within the nextGEMS project the ICON model was run at 5km horizontal resolution for about 2 years. Details on the model configuration and it's previous development within the project can be found at https://easy.gems.dkrz.de/DYAMOND/NextGEMS/index.html#id1. The present dataset includes selected 2d variables and is a subset of the full model output which is available on request. Here, we publish the 2m temperature, wind speed at 10m height, precipitation, sea surface temperature, the mixed layer depth, latent and sensible heat fluxes, net short-wave radiation at top of atmosphere, and the outgoing longwave radiation.
