Summary
[ Derived from parent entry - See data hierarchy tab ] Using ICON-CLM, the CLM community provides historical RCM simulations and climate projections for the EUR-12 domain of EURO-CORDEX by a dynamical downscaling of six CMIP6 GCMs and the shared socioeconomic pathway scenarios SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP3-7.0, and SSP5-8.5. The simulations are performed by the following institutions: DWD, KIT, Hereon, GERICS, BTU, C2SM, FZJ, Wegener Centre, and IMGW. The ICON-CLM setup was optimized in the COPAT2 (Coordinated Parameter Testing) initiative of the CLM community by an objective tuning of a large number of model parameters (Geyer et al, 2026, https://doi.org/10.5194/gmd-19-5439-2026). The SSP2-4.5 scenarios (2015-2100) are forced by different GCM projections (MPI-ESM1-2-HR, EC-Earth3-Veg, MIROC6, CNRM-ESM2-1, and NorESM2-MM). The MIROC6-driven historical simulation is affected by a considerable warm bias in southern Europe and its use (as well as the use of the corresponding scenarios) is only recommended after careful evaluation of the domain of interest. Relevant publications will be cited here as soon as they are available. The supplementary data complement the ESGF publication of the RCM projections by the CLM-community.
