CECPI-Ger - Coordinated Evaluation of Convection Permitting Climate simulations with ICON-CLM: parameter test simulations to optimise the setup of ICON-CLM-2024.07 for Germany
For the quasi-objective calibration and tuning of the regional climate model ICON-CLM (ICON Climate Limited-area Mode), versions icon-2024.07 and icon_master_20250113, the CLM-Community (https://www.clm-community.eu) did an extensive series of test simulations and analyses, coordinated within the framework of the CLM-Community internal project “Coordinated Evaluation of Convection-Permitting climate simulations with ICON-CLM”. The sensitivity study test simulations cover a Central European domain (CEU-3) at about 3k m resolution and are forced by a pan-European ICON simulation (CLM Community simulation ID: C2I300c) at 12 km resolution (CORDEX EUR-12 domain). Published data cover the period from 2002-01 to 2003-12, with 2001-12 used as an additional spin-up month. Selected simulations were extended to 2005-12. This dataset contains a subset of commonly used (near-)surface variables at hourly intervals: T_2M, TMIN_2M, TMAX_2M, PMSL, CLCT, TQV, TOT_PREC, ASOD_S, SP_10M, ALHFL_S, and ASODIFU_S. Configuration information and all commonly used external input data (including solar forcing, aerosols, ozone, greenhouse gas concentrations, etc. fields and time series) as well as grid specifications, are provided in a separate dataset.
