Summary
This dataset contains the output from sub-kilometer scale simulations performed for three days during the FESSTVaL (Field Experiment on Submesoscale Spatio-Temporal Variability in Lindenberg) campaign. The simulations are described in the article "Where NWP meets LES in a convective boundary layer during the FESSTVaL field experiment" by Sakradzija et al., 2025 QJRMS. Simulations with the ICON model on four nested domains ranging from ~600 to 75m resolution are contained in the files: FESSTVaLD2_Lind_turbdifftag_20210614.tar FESSTVaLD2_Lind_turbdifftag_20210627.tar FESSTVaLD2_Lind_turbdifftag_20210629.tar For the date 20210629, the simulation was repeated for two larger, nested domains FESSTVaLD2_Lind_largecp_turbdifftag_20210629.tar Simulations from the MicroHH large eddy model are contained in the file archive MICROHH.tar For the date 20210627, two additional versions of the MicroHH simulations were performed with higher resolution (subfolder 20210627_hires) and with 3D radiation (subfolder 20210627_3d).
