Summary
This dataset of preprocessed impact-relevant atmospheric variables from a reforecast dataset by ECMWF is necessary to make use of unseen-awg and its simulations; unseen-awg simulations are look-up tables into this dataset.

The dataset contains impact-relevant variables at a daily scale over Europe:
- Liquid water equivalent thickness of total precipitation amount
- Mean temperature at 2 metres
- Maximum temperature at 2 metres
- Minimum temperature at 2 metres

The following preprocessing steps were applied to the retrieved daily ERA5 data:
- Data were aggregated to daily scale (original 6-hourly resolution) by taking daily sums, maxima, minima, or means depending on the variable of choice
- Units were converted, we enforce non-negative total precipitation amounts
- Format and metadata were harmonized

Once the zip files in this dataset are expanded, they combine to form a single .zarr archive. All partial files must be downloaded and extracted, otherwise the .zarr store will contain missing data.
