This dataset contains MPI-ESM-1.2-LR output from the work package 1 (WP1) CTL scenario with constant present day land cover (end of the year 2014) under present-day environmental conditions without any wood harvest and no irrigation. The simulation branches from the 2014 CMIP6 historical concentration-driven simulation and spans 160 years (2015-01-01 to 2174-12-31), with anthropogenic (trace gases, aerosols, population density) and natural forcing (solar radiation, wildfire, lightning, natural aerosols) held constant at 2014 levels.
This scenario scenario is used as a clear baseline to compare with the idealized LAMACLIMA WP1 scenarios of re-/afforestation (FRST), re-/afforestation with wood harvest (HARV), cropland expansion (CROP), and cropland expansion with irrigation (IRR).
