Summary
This dataset provides the set of 26 core indices recommended by the ETCCDI (https://etccdi.pacificclimate.org/list_27_indices.shtml) calculated on the 50-member Max Planck Institute Grand Ensemble (MPI-GE) (Olonscheck et al. 2023) for the historical 1850-2014 period. The MPI-GE is the large ensemble of the MPI Earth System Model version 1.2 in the low-resolution configuration (approximately 1.8° horizontal resolution) (Mauritsen et al. 2019) and uses CMIP6 external forcings (Eyring et al. 2016). The indices are calculated from daily minimum, mean, and maximum temperature as well as from daily precipitation and provided at monthly or yearly temporal resolution, depending on the index, and at native spatial resolution.
