Amplification Function of Maximum Likelihood Estimates of Temperatures using Data from the Dynamically Consistent Ensemble of Temperature (Version 1.1)

Calvert, Bruce

Dataset
Summary
This dataset consists of the estimated amplification function of DCENT_MLE_v1.1. The amplification function varies by 5° latitudinal band, surface type (open sea vs land/ice), and calendar month. The amplification function is intended to reflect the observed tendency of different regions to warm faster or slower relative to the global average. However, observed local amplification factors (i.e., how fast a location on the planet warms relative to the global average) may differ substantially from the estimated amplification functions. Results of sensitivity tests using alternate sea ice source datasets from the Japanese Meteorological Agency (COBE-SST3) and the National Snow and Ice Data Center (modified G10010v2 appended with G02202v4) are also available.
